In this current edition of our dialogue with Nollywood actresses and actors, we present delectable actress Tunbosun Aiyedehin, popularly known as Tuby.
Tuby is a versatile actress and voice over artiste. Born in Lagos State, Nigeria, Tuby is an indigene of kwara State.
Tunbosun Aiyedehin joined the Nigerian film industry mid 2000s. Prior to venturing into movie, she was doing business.She has since in the 2000s featured in several Nigerian television series and great movies.

KINDLY INTRODUCE YOURSELF
I’m Tunbosun Aiyedehin. I’m an actor, speech facilitator and voice over artiste.
TELL US ABOUT YOUR CAREER.
Acting had always been my choice but my father didn’t want to hear of it(🙄). So, theatre arts wasn’t going to take the day in university.
However, by divine arrangement, in my 200L, a group of actors sprung up in my department on campus. I walked into a lecture theatre one evening and I saw auditions going on for a role and I felt “I could nail this”! I indicated interest and the coordinator was blown away. I went from being auditioned, to being in the drama group as a major player too. Moving on to my working years. I got a job with Lufodo Productions, known today as LAPA -LUFODO Academy for Performing Arts!
I resigned after 4½ yrs and went into full time acting, voice overs and a bit of stage performances. It’s been a bit of a stressful journey but I choose to look at the fun times bearing in mind that those days of negativity are bound to happen and they’ll just make me stronger!!! If there’s no story, there’s no history.
2015/16 for example were beautiful years. Nominated for AMVCA in Nov 2015 and the awesome win was in March 2016!!! It’s been from one step of joy and grace to another. Got nominated later on for BON awards and TINFF awards too…I’m still on the grind…(🙌)
WHEN YOU DO SOMETHING POSITIVE OR HELPFUL TO OTHERS, DO YOU PREFER PRIVATE RECOGNITION OR PUBLIC PRAISE?
No way!!! My secret is my secret. What am I making noise about? A deed that God can use ANYTHING (not even a person) to achieve. As a matter of fact if the person makes noise about it, I can cut communication with such a person!!! I’ve done it, thank God, let’s move on. There must be an extreme need to talk about it if not, I have forgotten about it. Let God reward me please. So, “mum’s the word”!!!
WHAT ARE YOUR GUILTY PLEASURES?
Ohhhhh, some 70s and 80s jams, even some 90s. There are some gospel beats that fall in there too…(💃)With TV, it’s The Sound of Music for me…(😀)
UPON DYING, IF YOU HAD THE CHOICE TO RE-LIVE YOUR LIFE OR LIVE A DIFFERENT LIFE, WHICH WOULD YOU CHOOSE AND WHY?
Emmm, yeah, (😀) I’d live my life, quite bumpy at some point but I love this chapter I am on at the moment. Took some fire brand prayers to get here but of course, when you sow you reap. So, yeah, my life!!!
DO YOU HAVE ANY REGRETS?
Regrets!!! Hmm, I do but I keep trying to tell myself that God knows why it panned out this way. Since I never kpeme(die), e get wetin God wan take the situation(s) do. You have to know yourself so you don’t offend the Spirit of God with wrong utterances.
DO YOU EVER FEEL SOME PEOPLE WILL BE BETTER OFF WITHOUT YOU IN THEIR LIFE?
(Laughs ) I guess so. Who is indispensable? If you must be in someone’s life, either by design or divine connection, you will find to each other.
DO YOU EVER FEEL LIKE YOU WOULD HAVE BEEN A BETTER PERSON IF YOU NEVER MET SOMEONE IN YOUR LIFE?
Hmmm, occasionally I do but sometimes I just relax and watch events unfold. HBP is on the rise, not considering age. We work so hard and don’t rest as much I cant afford to go down that route for too long so I try a lot to erase regrets. If the person deliberately hurt me along the line…..(laughing)…e dey come back.
HAVE YOU EVER BULLIED SOMEONE OR BEEN BULLIED YOURSELF?
I haven’t finished with self-bullying not to talk of bullying someone (🤣)
Trouble as a whole isn’t my thing. So, both ways it’s a no-no.
DO YOU RESENT THE WAY YOU WERE RAISED,CAN YOU TAKE US DOWN MEMORY LANE?
RESENT??? No waaaaay. Wow, growing up was fun!!!! (😁😁😁)My parents with 6 of us, uncles and aunts too. Several domestic staff at different times who had their duties, they had their own misdeeds/drama and that was engaging enough. I grew up with comfortable parents by His grace so fun was FUN! Good schools and a proper environment with the necessary privileges. It’s worthy of praise!!!
DO YOU HOLD ANY GRUDGES AGAINST ANYONE?
E no easy to waka make head no shake. Life happens and I always remind myself that as time goes on gurrl, shake it off! As God hears me, He helps me shake it off but we may not be as chummy as before.
ARE YOU MORE LIKELY TO AVOID CONFLICT OR ENGAGE IT HEAD-ON?
Haaa!!! Why won’t I avoid conflict???🤣 To engage it head on means I have seen some extreme stuff and issues need to be trashed out. If not, “to your tents O Israel…
WHAT IS YOUR BEST COLOUR AND WHY?
Blue and I honestly never knew why but I have grown to LOVE it. Right now though, I feel extremely confident when I’m on a blue outfit or combo.
DO YOU PREFER THAT PEOPLE SHOOT STRAIGHT WITH YOU OR TEMPER THEIR WORDS?
Please, tell me as it isssss!!! Don’t mince words. It’s faster for resolution sake. Let’s spill all and know which way to go. The worst that can happen is a BAD banter, we may want to quarrel but somehow we’ll make up.
IF YOU COULD ELIMINATE ONE WEAKNESS OR LIMITATION IN YOUR LIFE, WHAT WOULD IT BE?
Fear of new things. I get butterflies in my tummy when I need to try my hands on new things but by His grace I’m getting past it.
HOW DIFFICULT IS IT FOR YOU TO FORGIVE SOMEONE WHO REFUSES TO APOLOGIZE?
I beg dey your dey! Forgiving is child’s play at that point. It means you can harm your fellow human being. I’ll keep you at arms length. We’re better off that way.
IF YOU BECOME A PRESIDENT TODAY, WHAT IS YOUR FIRST ACTION TO TAKE?
Hmmmm!!! In a country like this? (🤣🤣🤣)…let me summarise it this way, HEADS WILL ROLL. No concession (winks*)
DO YOU HOLD ANY CONVICTIONS THAT YOU WOULD BE WILLING TO DIE FOR?
Please, the only permanent thing in life is change. What is the do or die for? No now, I hold on to something that must bend a bit, let’s give it a try, let sleeping dogs lie please but Jesus is always Lord(🙌🙌) that IS A CONVICTION (😉).
