Famous Nollywood comic actor Mr Ibu has backtracked on his support for Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
He had endorsed Mr Tinubu to lead Nigeria as a president after 2023.
Mr Ibu had expressed the belief that Tinubu deserves to be elected the next President of Nigeria in 2023.
He and other actors endorsed Tinubu at a meeting themed ‘South West Stands with Asiwaju Bola Tinubu’.
The meeting was organised by associates of the former governor of Lagos state who has not officially declared his intention to contest in the 2023 presidential election.
Mr Ibu – whose real name is John Okafor – had rallied support for Tinubu.
But after public backlash, he appears to have backtracked a bit, revealing how he has enjoyed a great relationship with Atiku, the former Presidential candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).
He went on to claim in his latest video that he has been an “independent person” and that he has in the past benefitted from Atiku.
