Former Miss Namibia 2018 Selma Kamanya has taken to her Instagram page to help create awareness about suicide.
September is suicide awareness and prevention month.
The beautiful model spoke on the topic, saying she was proud to be a mental health activist who uses her platform to educate and inform the public of the dangers of mental health challenges.
According to Kamanya, since September is suicide awareness and prevention month, she felt compelled to bring to light the recent suicides that have taken place.
She says “Terms like ‘be kind to one another’ or ‘check in on one another’ are deemed so insignificant, but can really make a difference in other people’s mental state.”
She went on to state that “If no one is checking in on you, check in on yourself, mental cognisance can really go a long way in terms of mental wellness. I also want to urge everyone to practice more empathy”
