With Mass country dominating music chats across streaming platforms, we’ve been searching and have found a hidden gold that you should add on your playlist.
The hit single by a Malawian prominent musician, Tay Grin, who features South African star Phantom Steeze is definitely a killer, and should be at the top of your music playlist.
Since releasing ‘Foto’ last year, Tay Grin has been slowly rebuilding his popularity in the land locked southern African country and internationally.
Foto has received a positive and overwhelming response from reviewers and followers, while also being able to maintain good airplay on various radio stations, and giving fans the anticipation build-up on when an actual video will drop.
The song’s visuals were then dropped early this month through an exclusive premiere on MTV Base South, before being put on hold for seven days for exclusive rounds of rotation on the channel until later being uploaded onto YouTube and other streaming platform.
The Nyau music King took to his social media to explain the reason that he has taken it to MTV Base South, and why it has also taken him a bit of time to release new music.
Tay wrote, “They say good things come to those with patience that is why my video took time to come out kuti ikhale yotchakuka bwino mpaka pa MTV Base South wooo!”
He further says he is aiming for global stardom, and is tapping into the Amapiano sound in hopes of bringing a new flare and different vibe to his audience and sticking out from his usual criteria of urban Hip-Hop.
Tay’s self-embrace of fusing traditional music with urban music makes him well notable to be able to stand out and connect with the local and international market.
He has over time produced a number of hit singles which include “Lubwa”, “Kanda” (feat. Sonyezo & Orezi), “Chipapapa” (feat. 2Baba), “Tola” (feat. Vanessa Mdee), and “La La La” (feat. Namadingo) just to name a few.
